Easter Monday

Today being Easter Monday, we headed down to Greenock and picked up two nephews and a niece. This was the first time the niece had come out with us, as generally she will scream the house down if she is not withing touching distance of her mother. So once they were all in their car seats we sped away before she even had time to realize her mother wasn't with us.
Once we got to Battery Park, the fun began, playing in the sand, mostly throwing it at auntie Nina, sliding on slides, running as fast as little pre 5 year old legs can carry them, a visit to the skate park, more running, more sand, more slides
By the time we got back to the car, the little niece was out for the count in seconds, so off to McDonald's we went, sneakily we managed to tell the boys that there were no fries left, so fruit would be better to have, they took the hook.
Once they scoffed their food, the boys that is, the little one was still zonked to the world, we headed to visit gran, the boys were very excited about this, and were all loves and smiles when they finally got there, after a game of look out the car window tell me what you can see, quite a hard game when they were both hiding under a jumper, cause apparently the sun was chasing them !

Last Light

So here we are in the middle of the easter break from college, we have a project to get our clicking fingers around called "Last Light" so the past few nights I have been out hunting that elusive sunset, the first few attempts were pants, even the trip up to the highlands at the weekend was fruitless, but tonight without going anywhere special I managed to catch this little baby, she was a delight, even though it was a wee bit cold out, but hey I'm Scottish, the cold and me are best buddies for most of the year.

Highland Waters and Elusive Sunsets

Myself and two friends, Dawn and her sister Meagan took a little camping trip into the highlands on Friday. We were hunting for sunsets and sunrises, two very evasive things it seems. And for Dawn to do a shoot with Maegan.

Our sleeping arrangements got a little dubious when we realized the outer part of the tent was missing, but once we "borrowed" a large tarp from a house that was being built, we thought we had it sussed, but all three of us froze our arses off all night.

Saturday morning we headed down to the beach to take more photies, and nearing the end of Dawn's shoot with Meagan I managed to talk Meagan into actually lying down in the freezing water at Morar beach. She was a total star for doing it, and that water was so cold it was hurting my feet, so I can only guess how poor Maegan was feeling. Mind you the fantastic steak and ale pie that we had at the drovers inn on the way home made up for it I am sure.

A Little Time With A Little Dog

The more time little Harvey is here, the more my heart melts and I fall so much more in love with him. Ben has come round to the fact that he's the best mate he never wanted, they are doing everything together sleep eating and play in the boys club, it's sweet, even though I am sure it is driving Ben crazy.

So the little guys goes home soon, but we might manage to keep him a little longer, you know just to help out, not for our own selfish reasons at all.

So here is a little short video of the little guy, doing what he does best, being too cute.

Hardcore

Today was the first day of shooting for my graded unit, Leah and I braved the rain and cold and met in Glasgow to begin our adventure.

We managed to get a couple of hours in before the heavens decided it was time to open and shower us in the Scottish delight, cold wet rain.

I think I got a few good shots, though some not so good, but that's how the story goes I guess. We will be going back on Thursday to get some more.

Here is hoping for better weather

Dog Sniff

If you know me, you will know I am doing my HNC in photography at college. Right now we are coming to the end of the year and we are doing our graded unit, this usually come in the form of us producing a lovely book with 10 of our images in it, there is usually a theme to the photographs, but mostly they are to show your technical and artistic abilities.
I want to pass this with a little more than an "A" or "1" I am steaming ahead and looking for a distinction, So as well as the book, I am going to produce a video to go with it. I am going to be animating the photographs from the book and adding audio to it, this is a short animated video of a new animation technique that I am trying out. I want the animations to be subtle, almost enough that you might not even see them happening to start with. So here is my first go at this new one. The video here is not very good quality, if you really want you could check out the HD version HERE. hope you enjoy it.

Harvey Comes To Stay

Meet Harvey. He has come to stay with us for 10 days while his family move house. He is not pack orientated at all and tends to get himself into trouble with our three dogs, but each day that is passing he is learning a little bit more. Things like he can't have all the attention all of the time, and that sniffing Holly is really not such a good idea at all.

Good news for his family is that when he goes home they will be pleased if not over the moon to know that he is now eating dry food and sleeping in his own bed, two things he was not doing when he arrived here on Thursday night.

So another week with little Harvey should be fun, watching him learning all the new tricks of the how to be a real dog trade.
